Will/do you let dc outside diaperless or without pants?

In theory, it seems like a good idea for diaper free time. But I just couldn't bring myself to let ds go diaperfree, or even pants-less, outside the other day when it was warm. He's still crawling, so would be sitting on the grass half naked.
Am I being overly protective? Do you let dc go diaper or pants free outside?
I'm not sure what I'm concerned about- dirt, grass, rocks etc in creases? Bare knees going over pokey grass and rocks?

i would but really don;t have a yard to speak of. better than in the house.

yeah my lo's have been out nappy/pant less my dd. caitlin had an outside party with paddling pools last and both her and caden were both playing out side in the nuddy, also last summer (maybe this summer too we'll see) cadet would often play in the garden in just his body suit and nappy.
It's normal to feel over protective of your lo's with my 1st i wouldn't even get laminate flooring because i was worried she would hurt herself on that.
dirt and grass won't hurt your lo but i understand where you are coming from.

my crawler is butt naked all the time outide. at first i was a bit worried about his knees getting scraped, but most areas in our yard are soft grass and even the cement walk way is relatively smooth. (ive tested it out for myself lol)

we have lots of trees, flowers, plants, hiding areas and textures (grass, dirt, cement, brick walkway) and i feel he gets to completely experience this when going diaperless.

and we CD with the PUL covers so sometimes i want his butt to "breath"

The sad part is, this is my 2nd dc. lol. We didn't have much of a yard when ds1 was little, and the little bit we had was in full view of a 4 lane road So I never had to think about this!

Yep. DS1 spent a big part of the last summer nekkid as he kept getting nasty diaper rash sores (cause' he'd poop an not tell anyone and sit in it for ages till you got close to him and go 'oh, ds1 you need changed!!' and by then his but would be all red and sore and nasty , DS2 hasn't done so yet, but he will once it warms up a little more :P

Just did yesterday! DD is not yet one, and the weather has just recently become nice enough to do this. We have a decent sized yard but we mostly just played on the porch with a bucket of water and a naked baby

ETA - we live on a dirt road and are really secluded, so I don't have to worry about much traffic.

yep, I let ds out nakey butt all the time in the yard. I wouldn't on grass or anything that has been treated though. His butt is pretty well padded that it's not like dirt is actually getting up the butt

I usually let him run around in an oversized shirt, unbuttoned onesie/romper or overalls so he's not flashing. Today he was diaperless with swim trunks on and that worked ok too

Yes! A good section of our yard is private. I just picked up some mesh/athletic type shorts from WM ($1ea on clearance) that I intend to let him wear w/o diaper so I don't have to worry about him flashing his parts.
