When did you give wheat?

I've read all kinds of varying things on when to give wheat. What did you do?

I don't know if it matters, but I think ds has sensitivities to food chemicals (salicylates, etc). He does not react when I eat wheat.

i did right away @ 6 months, she gnaws on challah and practices self-feeding with pasta.
i'm also confused b/c on one hand "they" tell you to wait but on the other hand they tell you bagels, hard crackers, etc are great for teething

We tried at 6 months, then 8 months, and now we'll wait until he's a year. Both times he became extremely constipated and gassy. Gluten intolerance and celiacs runs in our family though.

I started around 6mo, just a few weeks after starting solids. We've had no issues.

Honestly with DS that was the first thing we gave him, he gnawed on a piece of pizza crust when he was like 5.5 months. His screaming because we were eating was just unbearable-he was never happier than that moment.

Our family really isn't food sensitive though.

No history of food allergies, but with the understanding that babies do not have the digestive enzymes to digest wheat until 2yo, we have given him VERY limited wheat. Like a nibble here or there of our toast or little bite of a shortbread cookie. He's almost 1yo and we did this in the last 2 mo.
