Say No To Cuts

Thread Starter
The new budget in the state of California plans to include cutting $2.5 billion for the education system. As a young mom trying to raise a family here, I am very concerned that this could compromise the system greatly.

Say No To Cuts was created to educate parents on what is really at stake with the cuts and what they could do to support their children's public schools.

What are your thoughts on this? If you agree, please take a few minutes to visit the site above and sign the petition. If not, what are your reasons?

Honestly, I think CA's budget is in such bad shape that everything is going to have to be cut. That said, everything else should be cut as much as it can be before education is even thought about.

The problem is not the cuts, but who will feel the cuts. It will be classrooms, not administrations. Most school systems could cut 50% of their central office staff and red tape and the result would only be positive. But that won't happen. Sigh
