pain to the right of belly button

For about a month or so now I have been getting a strange discomfort sometimes can be more uncomfortable than other times but never severe. Its one inch down and about 3 inches to the right of my belly button. The pain never moves, sometimes I almost feel like it feels warm inside maybe? What could this be? Should I be worried?

Transient stuff like that is usually nothing urgent ime.

I would monitor it. Check for fever. See a doc asap if things get worse of course. Or if there's a fever, but if no fever and you can still walk (i.e. the pain is not bad) you are probably fine.

Otherwise, mention it to your doc next time you see them.

It could just be the way your digestive system 'moves' and it may be hitting a nerve.

Just FYI, for months I could literally feel my gall bladder contracting and was in quite a bit of pain. Did the u/s and everything was fine. Sometimes the body does weird things and causes weird sensations that are not serious.

Have you ever had abdominal surgery?

When I had abdominal pain for over a year, the dr told me in a woman, it could be anything. Hehe...thanks doctor. I couldn't believe all of the things that would cause abdominal pain! ...and so many misdiagnosis stories out there! Yikes.

Mine ended up being adhesions from my cesarian that were putting pressure on my bladder, uterus and intestines. OUCH They removed the adhesions via laparoscopy (while they were looking for endometriosis...but didn't find any). I've felt amazing ever since.

I have a friend whose abdominal pain was her gallbladder.

Another friends was diagnoses as IBS...and she is still in pain.

Several people I know had appendicitis...but I can't remember if that is left or right.

I've also had several ovarian cysts...that eventually rupture (that's not fun either)

So many different things...you might want to get it checked out. xo

OH yeah, adhesions are pretty common and many times docs cut in the thru the belly button too.

Thanks ladies, the only surgery I've had is a c-section just over a year ago. I've never (knock on wood!) had any fever or any side effects, it just seems to come after eating sometimes, which is why I am thinking its digestive.

Adhesions are pretty common after a c-section. Almost half of all women experience adhesions after their first cesarian. They cause different symptoms in everyone depending on where the adhesions form. They can put pressure on the bowels and cause similar symptoms to IBS. They can cause internal organs to stick together, including the bowel. They can be painful and debilitating. The only way to detect them (as far as I know) is through exploratory abdominal surgery. They don't develop immediately, but in the first years following a cesarian.

When I first started seeing my naturopath about the pain, she put me on a high folate & VERY high fiber diet and that helped to move things along more easily. I started drinking smoothies in the morning made from berries and kale.

Are you sure you don't have a hiatal hernia? I had one and had surgery to repair it.
