Still Not Ready

Is anyone else still not ready as far as baby gear goes? All of our big baby gear (car seat, swing, bouncy seat, etc) are still in the attic and dusty. Our double stroller is in the shed and needs a good cleaning.

And my room is majorly cluttered after removing wallpaper/painting, we still need to paint the shelves and put them back up so I can get all this junk off my desk and bureau. Need to rehang the curtain rods, 'cause the old ones don't work with the new curtains I bought. Still have to call the fire department and fill out that emergency responder form for the midwife. I have about a dozen onesies that I was trying to applique.. I got the fabric ironed on them, but I haven't sewn them yet (in my defense, my mom borrowed my sewing machine and broke all the needles, so I need to run to Joann's).

That said, I would love to have the baby tomorrow morning. Not so much today, 'cause I want to watch Bones, Community, and Office.. but tomorrow would be great.

I had everything ready at 37 weeks, and then I gave the house a really thorough cleaning at 38 weeks.. but it didn't do me any good, because now I have to do it all over again (almost 41).

My organization system has fallen apart, I want to re-wash all the clothes because they've been out and have gotten dog hair on them, etc. I also have a couple of onesies that still need to have the bottoms cut off and hemmed, and some baby shirts I planned on painting but haven't gotten around to doing yet (I highly recommend freezer paper stenciling!).

I'll probably do the onesies today. I just ran out of black thread on my bobbin, so it's a good time to switch to white for a bit. (I am down to one bobbin- my sewing machine supply store has moved and I don't know where!)

The car seat is the only real piece of "gear" we use (unless you count slings); mine is installed in my car, but DH's car is still too messy to install his.

We are totally not ready here either- the house is a wreck- DH works a lot, and I can't keep up. I don't have the space for new LOs clothes cleared out yet, the car seat isn't adjusted, but it is out!, the bed linens need changed....

Ack- my head is spinning at the things that need done- but probably won't before this one is here- good thing they don't need much for the first few weeks huh?
