has anyone used it?

I'm wondering if its worth buying. I've been using my moby wrap but I wouldn't mind having the option of something that doesn't require so much wrapping and tying and I have 2 hand me down ergos just waiting to be used.

I love mine. I've been using it since my LO was about 2 wks old (she's almost 8 wks now). It's nice and snug and cozy (probably too cozy for hot weather, though) and she falls asleep instantly. I mostly wear it to go for walks, though, not around the house, since the Ergo's not that comfy for sitting down.

I have the original infant insert (not the heart2heart). I honestly think it works about the same to just swaddle the baby and put him in that way. It would save some money and does about the same thing!

I have been rolling a receiving blanket and lining the bottom with it before putting in baby. It works great.

I had the old insert for dd1 and the new one for this baby. I think the new one is worth the money because it's easier to just pop baby in. Since we use the ergo a lot for grocery-shopping and zoo-going and such, it was worth it to me. I don't like the Moby as much for being out and about because I can't seem to get the hang of not having to retie each time we're in and out of the car.

Yeah, I'm getting kind of tired of tying the moby onto myself in general. When he's upset and I'm fumbling it drives me batty. I'm also thinking that come summer weather the moby is going to be overwhelmingly hot which I guess would be an issue with the ergo insert too.

I'm planning on trying out my sister's baby belle carrier next week. She LOVES it and I might just splurge if I can go for a walk with him in it and have a happy back and happy baby.

I really like the way the ergo distributes weight to the hips and so I've appreciated the insert because it allows me to use the ergo with such a young baby...but I've used the ergo with older babies I nannied for and I think it is more ideal for an an older baby.

I have heard there are light fabrics that can be used to make a wrap...I mean, I figure if women in hot climates around the world use wraps to wear their babies, there must be a way to do it that wouldn't be too uncomfortable... But I don't know brands or types. Maybe someone else does?

Yep, you can get really light wraps... piece of cloth (the wrap store online) has a bunch of summer ones listed, I think? I saw it on one of the sites, at least...

Bali Baby if I am remembering the name right makes a summer weight wrap.

I haven't pulled out my Ergo yet. I started out using my Moby, but it is already in the 80's here. It is just too hot to wear her outside in it, and we have been spending a lot of time at the ballpark. I started using my BabyHawk Mei Tei last week and we are loving it. Maggie goes right to sleep and neither of us get too hot. It is also comfy for sitting down. I didn't get my Babyhawk until dd1 was 3 months old, so I didn't know how well I would like it for a newborn. I love it!

There's tons of summer wraps available on etsy, too...

I have the ergo w the new infant insert and I love it and baby loves it. I do think a blanket in the bottom (to lift him up higher) and a swaddle would do the same thing, more or less (but a swaddle might get too hot). But baby loves to sleep in the heart2heart even around the house, bc it feels cozy to him.
