My MIL brought it to our house and my DH and she put it on while I was asleep. The filter was new, but kept in the basement along with the humidifier. When I woke up the next morning and opened it up I saw a few mouse droppings in it. Gross! I immediately cleaned it. Now after reading online about hanta virus, I am freaking out. my DH, my 3 week old baby and I breathed this crap all night long! My DH said they did clean it as good as they could (the fan was dust covered though!) and shook the filter. Doyou ladies have any insight if it's possible to get this virus thru the humidifier? I don't want to call my doctor and sound like a paranoid freak. My DH just shrugged it off and I lost my sleep over it! Any ideas about it?
