how to halt or lessen a reaction once it's started?

My son has a huge list of IgG allergies/intolerances. So far, none of them are true IgE allergies. That said, his symptoms get pretty significant. We recently tried eggs from grass fed chickens. The first time he ate them he did perfectly fine with them. Waited 4 days and re-tried them again today. He ate some bread I had made with the eggs, and he is already getting a rash on his face like he does with his reactions (rash, progresses to reflux and delayed gastric emptying, and severe diaper rash). However, usually his reaction is delayed even further and we don't see a rash until the next day. If he reacts the same day we know it's going to be bad.

Is there anything I can do to halt or lessen the reaction that is going to occur over the next 12 hours?? Or are we just going to have to wait it out? UGH!! I feel awful!!

Thanks!
Valerie

For us, bentonite clay makes the reaction a little better. I think Vitamin C/sodium ascorbate works for some people as well.

thanks, Kathy.....I ran out and found some betonite clay. Keeping my fingers crossed that it helps. How much should I give him??? The adult dosage is 1 TBS twice a day. He's only 20 months old and weighs 25 pounds. I gave him 1 tsp....does that sound about right??

When I used it with my DS (3x now), I used the 1 Tbs. in 6 oz. of water before bed. He's around 60 lbs. So yes, 1 tsp. sounds about right. I don't know if it matters which kind of Bentonite Clay. I got one at Whole Foods because he got cross contaminated with something when we were on vacation in Philly last year. It held his reaction to only the one night. I gave him the clay before bed the second night, and he didn't have his night of screaming that he usually does. But with lesser reactions (or maybe it's a different food) it didn't work. For instance last weekend he reacted to something (we're thinking cross contamination from the grill from either orange juice or chicken) and he's still had the rash on his lip and the patience of a gnat for the last week, even though I gave him the clay as soon as I saw the red appearing on his lip. I'm hoping it works for you though!
