does this make sense?

I am so desperate for sleep that I literally feel ill. DS (6 months) has been waking up at night and not going back to bed. He's basically napping around the clock. H acutally naps longer than he sleeps at night. His night wakings have been getting longer and longer. They were an hour, then two and so on. Well last night was in bed at 8, up at 11:30 and not back in bed until 4. And then he'll sleep in, sometimes as late as 10:30 or 11.

So does it make sense to wake him at the same time every morning? I've heard it is one of the best ways to help reset your clock so i've had DH wake him up around 7:15am the last couple days. I make sue he gets good naps too, but wake him up after two hours.

Do you think this will help? I'm worried that he'll be so overtired that he'll have an even harder time sleeping at night but don't know what to do.

He's goes to bed around 8 and naps 2-3 times a day.

Couldn't hurt to try a couple of days. A later bedtime could help too. At 6 months your DS could be teething and be close enough to a couple of milestones to be disrupting his sleep.
