solids & when do you start bringing a lunch?

my babe is 7 months old and although we started solids just a little over a month ago, she's eating 3 "meals" a day and is pretty good at it, as in, she eats a good amount and eats what we're eating.

i know now that solids are mainly for practice but we do have a routine of 3 meals so my question is.....when do i start to worry about bringing along food for her?

most afternoons we spend out of the house running errands or whatnot and alot of the time i'll end up skipping lunch myself if we get caught up in something. because we keep kosher it's not like we can just stop somewhere and eat.

so do i pack a jar of babyfood (even though she's never eaten that stuff,) an applesauce cup? should i bring something b/c she's used to eating and needs it in her belly? what about just for routine's sake? and if i don't need to now, when would you need to start???

I don't bring anything out when we go out (though we feed solids sporadically at best). For the first year, babies get most of their nutrition from breastmilk (or formula), so I'd just NIP.

thanks, i forgot to add that. BM is her primary nutritive source so it's not like she's going to starve if she misses solids....

I bring ds to a local drop-in playgroup many mornings. I only started bringing a snack when he started showing a real interest in the kids having a snack - around a year. Before that I really didn't worry about whether or not I had food for him when we went out 'cause he either ate a bit of what I did or he simply nursed.
