Gregory Oliver was born all-natural 4/20 at 5:09 pm after a ten hour labor, midwife attended hospital birth. I managed to break family tradition and have him at 39w6d- all the women in my family go at least one week overdue! My first was 11 days late.
6lb 13oz, 19 1/4" long, a head full of dark hair and his daddy's nose
Ctx started 7am were 30 sec long and remained infrequent and irregular until 2pm when they suddenly got excruciating, 1min long each and 4 minutes apart. Got in the tub for an hour until I couldn't stand the hot water, labored for another half hour til my mom got to the apartment to take care of our son. Headed over to the hospital and started pushing as soon as I walked in! I was fully dialated and after an hour of pushing, yelling, and swearing (much to my husband's amusement- I NEVER curse
) our beautiful, healthy baby boy was born! I did have some hemmoraging and large clots but everything go under control quickly and I feel fantastic now. He's been nursing almost non-stop since birth and actually GAINED 2 oz while still in the hospital!
No 26 hours of hard labor, epidural, or pushy OBs like my first birth- I'm so greatful that this time I had the birth I wanted!
