Diaper changing challenges

Ok, so I know this is an odd question, but, do any of you out there have a heck of a time changing your babies without their little hands getting into EVERYTHING?
My 7.5 month old dd immediately grabs her bum during diaper changes. This isn't such a horrible problem if it's simply a wet diaper.. but it's not always just "wet". Either I don't have enough hands or she has too many lol.
Properly washing the hands of a 7.5 month old isn't the easiest either. How concerned should I be about bacteria? She's still exclusively breastfed (does that make a difference?)
I don't want to come across sounding completely incompetent. I have changed many many babies diapers, newborn to toddlers and have never felt like I'm changing a baby octopus with hands grabbing everywhere and feet kicking everywhere!

I hand my guy a toy right before I unsnap his dipe. Usually the remote control (his favorite). That usually does it.

But just so you don't feel bad - if DH is home, then one of us changes while the other wrangles the tentacles.

Both my kids are little squirmers. DS doesn't do it quite as often any more, but I do sometimes also enlist DH for hand-wrangling with poopy dipes.

We give DD (11 months) a baby toothbrush, which she loves. We only give it to her during diaper changes, so it remains 100% thrilling

I don't want to derail this thread completely, but I totally read that as "wrangle the testicles".. I was like.. "err, wtf?"

I also give my DS a toy or the remote to play with while changing his diaper. Now that he's crawling, the tricky thing is to get him to not crawl away during a change.

Well, that is precisely where his hands go as soon as you take off the dipe.

DS doesn't get his hands in there yet, but he loves to whack the dirty dipe with his feet. Good think he's EBF, or it will be really gross...

Yep, I also am having a heck of a time changing my DS.

He just learned to roll back-to-tummy about 2 weeks ago, and thinks its the most awesome thing EVER to do. The second I start trying to change him (unless he is sleepy) he starts arching his back and trying to roll onto his tummy.

He only poops like twice a week, but when he does, its like a poopsplosion, and the twisting and arching gets the poo everywhere, there is no stopping it He also loves to whack his feet in the dipes too, so by the time we are done getting the poopy dipe off, It takes me a few soaking wet wipes to get him AND me cleaned up, and whatever he was laying on to be changed needs to be washed.

I seriously never ever imagined that a 5 mo could be THIS STRONG!!
