UPDATE: Arie's Birth Story
Woke up at 11:50pm to do one of the several usual rounds to the potty,
Peed and looked at my undies and there was a tiny wet spot, and I thought, hmmm I wonder if this is my water breaking? I wonder if I can go to my prenatal aquacise class today? I can ask Kellie, midwife, to check if its water tomorrow?
Went back to bed, then woke up and thought I need to wash my hair. Took a shower, then went to pee and had a bloody show, yaaah baby could be here soon, maybe in the morning????
Needed to clean the bathrooms, we planned for a water birth...Cleaned all three bathrooms then my husband woke, it was 1am or so..told him I think I am in labor, though I wasn't in pain yet so I wasn't sure if it was pre labor... he jumped up nervous and excited and preceded to help me do the final chores, and continuously asked me should we call the midwife... I said not yet I think it will be a while, as I was cleaning the tub, I was feeling the pains....I rested on the bed, side lying, then as the contractions were stronger, lets call the midwife, I couldn't speak during the contractions. 2:15 am
Then I was running to the toilet, was the most comfortable place to be, took a shower, was having to focus!
Back on the toilet again!
Got off was kneeling on the floor and I looked at my belly-how strong it was!
I forgot how intense labor is!
Was back on the toilet, my hubby said I was talking in Spanish in pain!
Was feeling pressure, and put my fingers inside and felt Arie's head very low right there!
Told my husband Arie's coming soon!
He nervously asked, should we call the midwife again-no she s on the way! Don't want her to get nervous....
She arrives! 3:12am
I told her, he s coming.
She said should we put water in the tub?
She checked FHT and I put my hand on him and my perineum and there he was-all of Arie came out in 1 push! From head to toe! 3:18am
Arie was crying and breathing perfect! He is beautiful!
Arie suckled and the placenta was born!
I could barely believe that he came so quick!
I was expecting a longer pregnancy and labor!
Guess you never know what to expect in birth!
