...and what do you use. I have gone 'poo free though dd10 wants to still use 'poo. My two youngest don't really get greasy hair. Should I wash it with bs occasionally?

I stopped using poo on ds several weeks ago. He is 17 months old. I just use water now, but I would use a shampoo bar or Dr. Bronners if he got something really icky in his hair. So far, I haven't really noticed a difference. My hair, on the othe hand, gets mega oily if I don't use poo.

The kids bathe 2-3 times/week and I wash their hair then. Right now I use Burt's Bees shampoo bar or the herbal treatment shampoo (dd had really dry scalp and ds had cradle cap).
Eventually I guess we'll be go to straight water.

We never washed my DD's hair a lot anyway. Spirited child, would scream at hair washing, just didn't seem worth it
Anyway, now that she will co-operate with hair washing, I go no-poo
: Isn't that the way it works
:
Anyway, suddenly my kids are bath crazy and taking them every day. I have just been washing their hair with water. I don't even scrub their heads as well as I do mine. DD yells like I'm killing her if I scrub her head (with poo or without
: ) DS doesn't like it either. So I just get their heads wet, scrub as well as they will let me, and leave it at that.
One day I did give my dd a balsamic vinegar (diluted of course) rinse. I can't say I noticed a difference. And I've been brushing her hair at night with my wooden brush and some EOs. I've used lavender and chamomile to make her hair smell yummy and help her sleep
Both my kids have gorgeous hair when I wash with just water. Apparently the poo wasn't necessary at all. DD's hair is beautiful, straight and brown and DS has wonderful blond ringlets. But then, I just have gorgeous kids, what can I say

I have been rinsing their hair 1 time every week or 2 with either diluted ACV or rosemary tea. Ds2 (6 mo) has almost no hair, so mostly I wipe his head down with a cloth, but ds1 (almost 3) has decided he doesn't want anymore haircuts so it is a little more difficult. He absolutely hates when I touch his hair (sensitive child) so I really have to convince him. I pour water over his head, pour diluted ACV (or rosemary), then pour more water. His hair looks better than it ever has!! He is so happy that we are 'poo free that he hardly complains at all

I wash ds's hair with a *natural* baby 'poo about 2 times a month. It's upstairs right now or I'd list the ingredients. No sls I know that and various essential oils but just how natural it is I'm not totally sure. The rest of the time I just use water. I like the idea of using rosemary tea tho. I might try that instead of the 'poo.

since i've gone no 'poo, so has dd. she only had 'poo a few times anyway.
i haven't noticed a difference.
i will probably have to do something once summer is here when we go to the big pool. i cringe at the idea of using b.s. on her or acv for fear of it getting in her eyes.
if she gets food/dirt/yuch in her hair now, i just comb/brush it out before our shower.
i love these no 'poo threads!!!

Ds is 4 mos and is no 'poo. It's so cool that when something does get into his hair (like whatever I'm trying to eat while he nurses
), it just brushes or wipes right out

I tried going no shampoo for a while (I think I made it up to two weeks) and by the end my hair was just dreadful. If I'd've stuck it out, maybe I would've ended up with beautiful hair, I don't know. But anyway, I wash my hair now usually every other day, and I am very careful about the type of shampoo I use.
My children on the other hand hardly ever get their hair washed. My oldest (7) likes washing his own once in a while, maybe once a month. My two younger children probably get their hair washed maybe twice a year, like when there is something sticky in it. Their hair looks and feels great, too.
