Ok this is really freaking me out!
Wednesday the skin around my left eye started to itch, not the eye just the skin. Then my neck. Yesterday morning (Thursday) I woke up and my eyelid was virtually swollen shut, the skin had gotten so puffy I could hardly get it open, it was still itchy. I took two Benedrills and put some cold compress on it. The cold really didn't help, but eventually the Benedril did. All day yesterday my eye was back to about 75-80% normal, a little swollen and itchy. Last night I could feel the itching coming back more and I took two more Benedrils before bed, hoping I could stop anything that might be brewing for this am. Well I am awake and my eye is swollen shut AGAIN!!! This is really freaking me out!!!
I have never had reactions like this. As far as a new soap or some thing in my home, I haven't done anything new. No new creams either...nothing I can think of topically.
I have no known allergies BUT I do have some food intolerances that I have been playing with lately. Since about the 20th of March I have gone grain free, as well as dairy. On Tuesday I made some cookies for my sons, gluten free but not grain free and I ate some...not some but more than I should have...could that have triggered this? Can someone have food intolerances
that have reactions like this, could I have always had an allergy to a food and it just now show up like this. Can a reaction last this long?
I have dealt with really bad stomach aches and very sore and aching joints from eating certain foods, even some throat itching and skin...but never this.
I am thinking of going to my doctor am sure she will want to give me a cortisone shot. Wondering if I should see an allergist....it feels like my body is freaking out on me....and it just looks horrible too
