Placenta Encapsulation

Thread Starter
I have a friend who encapsulates placentas for a living. She has offered to do mine when my baby is born next month, and I was just looking for experiences from others who have done this after having PPD with a previous pregnancy?

I had a dream postpartum experience with DS #1 and then spent 18 months in hell after DS #2 (unmedicated/untreated), so this time I am going to do everything I can to prevent the issue. I am having some symptoms during this pregnancy that make me feel that I might be heading down the PPD road again, the encapsulation was the only thing that made sense to me as far as prevention.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

i say do it - while it might not completley prevent ppd, it will certainly make it less severe. i had my placenta encapsulated and when i didn't take it for a week, i had a complete break down. it really does help as long as you continue to take them. that said, i'm afraid of what will happen when i run out!
