Sjogren's Syndrome?

This might be a long shot, but I'm trying to gather some information, is anyone here familiar with Sjorgen's Sydrome? It's an autoimmune condition where the saliva and tear glands are the most affected although in some small cases some organs can be affected as well. What do you do? What has helped?

Thanks.

Hi there!
I have not been "officially" diagnosed with sjorgren's but the blood work should be in any day now. I have other autoimmune so it's difficult for me to say for certain which symptoms are sjorgren's or lupus, for example.
That being said, I'm currently just in need of artificial tears. You can get artificial saliva mouth wash but I don't yet know anyone who uses it. I do know the treatment for Sjorgren's is very similar to that of lupus. In addition to the options I've already listed one might take NSAIDS (like Aleve) and/or immunosupressive medications like prednisone.
I am a member of Lupus Foundation of America message boards. There are a lot of people there with dx other than lupus and sjorgren's is pretty common. You might check there for some further answers to your questions.

i knew a woman with sjogen's who used diet as a treatment modality. Gluten-free, no chemicals, lots of organics, good fats, etc.

Thank you both! I'll definitely check out those suggestions.
