Help Appreciated! Oral Dose of Vit K in Canada?

I am posting for an Edmonton mama who just had a c-section. She would like to do the oral vitamin K but has been told by the hospital that they don't have the oral form. And the MW said to just give the syringe contents by mouth.

Can anyone chime in with info, links, etc? I'm a bit out of my environment b/c I'm in the Midwest.

She is also interested in maternal supplementation.

They don't have the oral doses in canada, they just give you the muscle stuff by mouth. I don't know how well that can be digested though, because it isn't made for digestion. And could be hard on baby's gut. Is there a reason for no needle? you can breastfeed while they do it so it is less painfull for baby.
