Hi all. I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I am reading on the UC board, and researching UC, as an option for us this time around. My husband and i have 4 living kids, 5 stillborn kids, and i am 5 or 6 weeks pregnant.
My son is not a year yet, and he was a planned homebirth, turned hospital induction. He was induced at 42 weeks, and was born, without meds or complication after 5 hours of labor. I am glad i made the choice to have him in a hosptial, because i think it is what i needed at the time. His birth was after 3 stillborn babies in a row, and he was not wanting to get out, and his movements were decreasing, and it was time.
My OB knew i was a planned homebirth from about 26 weeks, yet he was very kind about it.
When i found out i was pregnant again. i called my OB> we are not in a position to hire a midwife right now, and DH doesnt really want to pay a midwife again, just to have another hosptial birth if it came down to it.
He caught 2 of your stillborn babies, after a completely unassisted labor. ( one i was alone until the baby came out). He told me he feels like he can handle going unassited with this baby.
At this point, we have decided to see an OB, for prenatal care, and just see where we are at when we get closer to the end. We are saving for a midwife. ( I love my midwife) and also researching going UC. I just want to make sure we are both prepared and comfortable with UC, before we "sign up for it" Does that make any sense?
my live births have been pretty great, with the exception of my 3rd daughter, who was posterior, and i was in transtion for 4-5 hours, and total labor was 33 hours. SHe is the only birth i begged for someone to end my life. LOL
My other kiddos were great. 6 hours for the first, 45 min for baby that came 13 months later. 33 hours for baby 22 months later. then 5 ish hours for water breaking induction for baby that was 5 1/2 years later. no real complications, or concerns.
Anyway, just thought i would introduce myself here, so you all know who i am if i pop into threads, and/or ask questions.
