Braxton-Hicks or Baby Head Butt?

Excuse my ignorance, but it is my first child.

I've been having this sensation from time to time lately. It's very low in my pelvis, just above the pubic bone. It feels like a completely painless tightening, which I thought might be BH contractions. Or could it just be baby's head? Would that be too low for baby's head right now? I'm about 32 weeks. All the info is confusing, because lots of women say that BH are sort of painful, but I don't find it painful, just odd. I can't really tell what I'm feeling.

It sounds similar to my BH contractions. Sometimes I find the BH to be lower and other times close to my ribs. I find mine are few and far between when sitting or resting, but very frequent when I'm up and moving around!

ddcc sounds like bh to me bh can be either painless or painful tightenings i didn't get any with my 1st but started getting them at about 20 wks with my 2nd, about 12 ish wks with my 3rd and about 5-6 wks with my 4th and they started out painless and gradually became more and more painful as my pregnancy progressed (although i'd never say they ever got to be extremely painful, just very)

It does sound like BH. If it was babies head shifting around it would feel more like a twinge of pain rather than a tightening. I also had no BH with my first, got them at 20 weeks the second time around and this time they started about 15 weeks and have gradually gotten more painful and uncomfortable during this pregnancy. I bet yours don't hurt because this is your first.

My BH have felt sometimes like a painless tightening and sometimes a bit painful and can even make me stop in my tracks. The biggest difference to me between baby movements and BH (the painless ones, anyway) is what I can feel with my hands on my uterus. If it is baby movement, then I can feel the baby hardness in that place, but most of my uterus is "squishy". If it is BH, then my entire uterus is hard and has very little "give" when I push on it.
