OK - you know when someone borrows, say, a shirt from you and you get it back and it's faded and there are those little TINY round balls on it? You figure either they wore it a thousand million times or washed it in boiling water with the cheapest detergent ever, right?
Well I have some Indian Prefolds (unbleached) that I used for ds (now 4), dd (18mo) and was hoping they'd continue to soften for the new baby. But they recently started PILING!!!! Ahh!!!
Do you think this is "normal" just from being washed and worn by two kiddos or do you think I'm washing them wrong (on sanitary cycle, then thrown in dryer - no softeners and the detergent is "Country Save" - which I was told is great for cloth). Because of the problem it was suggested I try using a softener on them and have tried that twice but it hasn't helped.
I just want to know if there is anything to be done to "save" these fav diapers of mine AND.... if I have to get more is there anything else I can do differently to prevent this happening to them, or at least prolong their life?

so I've just been lining them with fleece liners but it would be nice if I don't have one handy to be able to just put the diaper as it is on her.
