night time diapers

Do any of you mamas change diapers during the night? We (DH, but I have to get him up and then wait to give her the other side after he's done) change R around 2 or 4am every night because if we don't she'll either leak or have a blowout when she has her big dawn poop (which today came at 4am  ). I would REALLY like to find some diaper that can keep this from happening. It has to be disposable because we don't have laundry. (We use cloth but they are prefolds from a service with bummi super brite covers and they are not enough to make it through a night.)

Any suggestions? They have to soak pee all night and still withstand the morning poo blast.

sorry, at that age i was having to change at least once per night as well. have you tried using two prefolds? not sure how thick the diaper service prefolds are, so that may or may not work. have you tried sizing up in disposables? sometimes that will help as well, and i know some companies make overnight diapers. or could you put a cover over the disposable? sorry for all the scatter brained ideas! lol.

Ha! We still change at least once a night because baby is up to eat anyway and we figure we might as well.

A sized-up sposie with a cover over top is a good idea. For the record, we always have had way more poop blow-outs with sposies than with cloth.

We do well at night with a prefold and a doubler (either hemp or bamboo) and you might be able to wash your doublers with your regular laundry whenever you go to the laundrymat or whatever.

We also use a service and do not have a washer.

We use a PC Green disposable with a cover over it for the night. So far it is great. Now she is 9.5 months and does not wet so much, so we do not always use a cover. We just couldn't deal with the middle of the night diaper change. When we did change her it wakes her right up and takes for ever to get her back down.
Try a disposable with a cover. Since you are only using 1 per day it is easier to spend more on diapers that are not as toxic.
