I like Vivienne and Cecilia both, but together they seem like a little much to me. I like Elijah and Atticus, not sure about them together, though.

i wouldn't do vivienne because of angelina jolie, but that's just me. i love atticus--i'd ditch elijah as a first name (too trendy) and do atticus elijah instead.

I hate hate Angelina Jolie for naming her daughter Vivienne. It has been a favorite of mine forever! I hope it doesnt catch on.

I am thinking of Vivienne Hazel or Vivienne Anabel now instead.

Our last name is common and one syllable (think Jones, Smith, Brown, etc) so we have to do the long names too. My oldest, who used to have his birth mom's maiden name, has a one syllable middle name and it sounds silly. Just like "David Lee Roth" has always sounded silly to me. Our syllable count in our family is ODS: 2 1 1, MDS: 3 2 1, YDS: 2 2 1, and DD: 3 3 1.

however, keep in mind w/a girl, she'll likely swap her maiden name for a married name at some point, so it may not matter as much.

Another lover of Vivian! That was my name of choice for a girl but then came Angelina Jolie and as of late I've seen it in several name threads here on MDC...so it's definitely out for me.
I like Hazel a lot and Vivienne Hazel sounds nice.
Elijah is too popular for me. Atticus could be trendy but it's also a great name! I think you should do that as the first name.

Yeah. *sigh* Vivienne was the #2 fastest riser on the list for last year (at least according to some naming article at babycenter). And yes, we're considering it, too (the Vivian form). I have a feeling it's going to do another big jump in 2010.
