Women using donor sperm

Since this board gets such heavy traffic,I wanted to bring this up here.

I'm a single woman trying to conceive using donor sperm. The sperm banks are shrouded in secrecy and often don't tell you the things you need to know. But, on a message board of this size, it might be possible to find other women using your donor/ get advice about the selection process.

So if you have used donor sperm, and would like to talk about the issues involved in donor selection / are trying to find your donor here, please post!

Adding my own story here

My story: My search was horrendous, because I had such high standards. I wanted somebody smart, well educated, good looking and personable. In addition, I also looked at their family, and vetoed many on the basis of health issues, education or weight issues. I basically looked through the entire inventory of 2 large banks (Fairfax and CLI). I finally found a donor who satisfied me on every single count, which was nothing short of a miracle.

I purchased multiple units of this donor and everything looked great. Then, I found other 5 women using my donor (this was a combination of plotting, planning and cosmic coincidence), and 4 of the 5 have had 14+ failed IUIs with him. One lucky woman got pregnant on the first try with twins.
All in all, I am left wondering if my donor is good at getting woman pregnant...this is an important criterion in itself

I'm starting this thread because I want to find other woman using my donor, and because I have a wealth of experience to share in what to ask the banks and how to read between through all the BS sprouted.

I am using donors, but I'm not much help here...

I'm not going through the sperm banks. I prefer meeting the donors face to face.
