Chart question from a newbie charter ;)

I'm not sure if my chart is doing what it is supposed to do. It's my first month of charting. My temps seem pretty low post o, and they aren't rising like it seems everyone elses is. Is it normal? Or as long as they are above the coverline it's ok? Ha ha, part of why I didn't want to chart was because I didn't want extra stress. Now I'm worried I have low progesterone or something! Or it could be ok, I have nothing to compare it to, and not enough knowledge. Any help?

If you are temping orally I would say that looks 100% a-ok!

(and even if you arent that is certainly not a sign of low progesterone or anything wrong, 97.6 is still a good post-O temp!)

Want something to compare it to? Keep in mind I temp vaginally so my temps will be considerably higher:

Non-pregnant chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/...rl/?i=3514308&
Oral temping chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/...rl/?i=3839653& (and see how jumpy/low it is?! thats why I switched to vaginal I found my temps were always a bit higher and much less jumpy)

First thing, you have to first check if you are temping properly.

1)Are you using a basal body thermometer and taking your temps in the right spot (at the base of the tongue)?
2) Are you temping first thing in the morning (ie before you wake up/ get out of bed or even move?). The only movement I make is to grab my thermometer from my bedside table and then shut off my alarm, before shoving the thermometer in my mouth.
3) Are you temping at the same time every morning?

I made a lot of these mistakes when I started charting, which is why my first chart looks like crap, the next 2 look better (I had eliminated all but one mistake) and the two latest look just right.. you can see the progression right here

Yup using basal, taking temp before anything else (thermo is bedside), not so much same time everyday. I don't have a consistant sleep pattern. I do temp the first time I wake and use that temp. Usually I am only off by 1/2 hr either way though. I am putting the thermo under my tounge... I guess I am doing it right. Not sure about vaginal temping. I could give it a try next month and see if it's easier.
Thank you for your responses! It makes me feel a lot better. I think the longer I am charting the more likely I am to see a pattern also.

I guess your chart isn't a "typical," pretty, sky high, temp climbing chart either! (in the begining anyway) But the "proofs in the pudding" so to speak, lol. After lots of chart stalking I am convinced there is no way to tell if you are pregnant before a bfp.

Your chart is fine for someone with irregular sleep patterns.

Can I just say though, that I am jealous of your BDing!!! Wow!!!!

I have irregular sleeping patterns (serious insomnia/RLS problems) and I mouth-breathe during the night... but as you saw going vaginally my temps were still really really stable... I would go to bed between 9pm and 3am and I would wake anywhere from 4am through 11am (depending on whatever was going on, if I had my kids and how late they would stay up) I would also wake up random times through the night...

I actually stopped putting my wake-up time in because it would give me nothing but mostly open circles no matter what I put in as my regular time... but I would mark the days when I got an insanely small amount of sleep (like 3 days before Oing on my pregnancy cycle, went to bed at 3am and got up at 6am and not sure I slept in between because DF was finally home for the first time from Iraq!) and I would usually at least note what time I woke up and how long I had slept for in the notes section in case I needed to check.

I found vaginal temping so much better not only because of how much more clear it made my chart... but also because my thermometer is LOUD... and if I closed my thighs around it while temping I could hear it beep but it would not wake up my kids... and also because once I put it in I felt okay with dozing back off (I had temp recall on it) but with it orally I was afraid if I did that I would roll over on it and it would poke me in the eye or throat or up the nose! LOL

My dh has a very strong drive and I am happy to accommodate. Truthfully I though after 13 years together and the fact he will be 50 this summer he'd slow down... Not so much! Maybe you can add that to your list of things to look for in a man! (Btw I really hope your donor visit from yesterday results in a bfp!)

Aww thank you! (And, I already have high libido in my list of "man must have"!)

I think your chart looks great and not abnormally low temps/coverline. I do think it is possible you O'd on cd17 instead of 16 as that's when you had the best CM dry up and a more significant rise. But 1 day won't make a huge difference until you plan on testing so maybe keep that in mind?
Timing is obviously good for DTD and like you said, the more charts you have down, the easier it will become to see your pattern. But hopefully you won't need any more charts after this one right?

ETA here is my charting homepage. I have a very slow rise after O and no sky rocketting temps.
