Postpartum Half Marathon-How Soon?

I was training consistently prior to getting pregnant but my longest race was a 12k. It has always been my goal to train for a half marathon, but I have yet to make it happen. I'm expecting a baby near the end of June and I'm considering the Disney Half in early January. Is this realistic or not? I will not be going back to work and I have help caring for the baby as needed during the day. Getting runs in (other than working them around breastfeeding) shouldn't be a huge issue for me, but I am not sure if I am giving myself enough time. There is a 5k at the same time, but the half is calling my name?

What do you all think?

Sounds realistic to me, just listen to your body and go with what is comfortable for you. Good Luck, sounds like you'll do fine with it.

I did a 1/2 about 4 months after DD was born. I started training at 6 weeks PP and did fine. I didn't complete it very quickly (even for me), but I finished it and was happy with that. This time I will have 3.5 months to train for the one after my little one is born. No expectations here, but it is nice to have a goal.
