Need reference re: CIO vs crying baby in arms cortisol release

In a discussion on another forum I'm on, we were chatting about the recent news stories about CIO doing harm via excess cortisol release ( that the media is reporting on this). I mentioned that I had read that babies who were crying IN ARMS do not have the same levels of stress hormones released and of course, a mama asked me for the reference and I can't for the life of me remember where I read it.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
TIA!!

Is it this? http://www.mothering.com/parenting/crying-for-comfort

Unfortunately, if you actually check the notes, the part about crying-in-arms not being stressful references some random book, not a study.

What study are you referencing for CIO-being-harmful? Is it the recent spate of articles about Penelope Leach? I can't actually find the study she says shows this result - the actual study text may have some clues for you.

Not sure if this will do. The article discusses physical contact lowering stress hormones. here's a link, http://www.naturalchild.org/guest/li...n_palmer2.html .
