Night Weaning b/c of Teeth

Pedi told me about 3 or 4 months ago to night wean b/c it was bad for her teeth. I promptly ignored this advice. But tonight I noticed white spots on her front teeth that might be signs of decay. Is nursing at night bad for her teeth? I read that breastmilk does not cause decay. There is no way to night wean unless we were to stop bedsharing, b/c my girl is addicted to the night time boob, for sure.

sorry if in wrong forum, didn't know where to post.

FWIW I've had white spots on my teeth my entire life...they've faded some as I've gotten older. It wasn't decay, just different coloring. I think a ped told my mom it was because I had fever when I was an infant. *shrug*

White spots on teeth are often a sign of fluorosis, which comes about from too much fluoride exposure. Most often from fluoridated water or processed foods.

If that's the case, it's most likely pretty mild and wouldn't be caused by night-nursing

My two older kids have both had to have dental work due to decay.
They both had white spots of weak enamel on thier teeth before the decay started. Once those spots were repaired we continued night nursing for 2+ years with no more cavities. I am sure that it was just weak spots that would have become cavities wether we were night nursing or not.
FWIW even if what they said was true ( which I don't) I think that night nursing is more important than a few cavities in baby teeth.
