LLWWSBP2016 For the Group of NON TRAITORS Who Actually Care about Winning the Golden Birthing... - Page 2

ColwynsMommy - I hope the baby is OK. My brother's crazy ex-girlfriend had a similar situation. We still don't know if it's my brother's baby or not, but she did try to say it was his at one point in time.

laughingfox - don't clear out space for the golden birthing stool quite yet. I had no signs of labor other than losing my mucus plug with my third child and he was born within 24 hours of losing it.

My DH is nesting. He's been on these cleaning kicks for the past week or so. He's felt the need to clean the garage, donate stuff, throw out old stuff, etc. Part of it may be that we are moving at the end of May, but part of it is probably nesting. Well, at least one of us is nesting I suppose b/c it sure isn't me.

Since 2:38 pm ET at 40w3d has passed, I am now more pregnant than I have ever been before. I was optimistic yesterday b/c I had a glob of mucus, but I haven't had any other signs yet. I got the liner in the tub today and cleaned the bathroom a bit so that it would be ready. I've also done a couple loads of laundry today. Now that I have done those things, the baby will surely come out, right?

Does anyone remember me posting about my MW being injured and I now have a backup MW? Does anyone find it odd that the original MW has not called me at all? I met with her apprentice and the backup MW last Sunday, but I have not heard from the original MW since she called me a week before my due date to tell me she wouldn't be at my birth so it's been about 1.5 weeks since I last heard from her. My DH asked me that question as well. Does anyone else find that odd or is that normal? I have another appt with the apprentice and backup MW on Tuesday.

Ugh, Rachel.. that sounds really really really hard. My husband's family has serious drug issues enough that we're estranged from them.

Ugh... I took a bad spill outside the grocery store. So, I'm all banged up on my knees (fell forward onto hands and knees) and now I'm all sore and can't take Motrin. Baby is moving around fine, but now I'm a sore mess. And sex just got a whole lot less possible.

Good point! After having a 30wk preemie, I'm SO grateful to still be pregnant!

I hope you're feeling better soon!!

As of today, I'm 11 days more pregnant than I've ever been! That feels like a REALLY LONG FREAKING TIME.

I'm at 40+3 today, with off and on labor since Friday the 16th. Been contracting without ceasing every 15 minutes since Thursday at 8am. I've lost TONS of mucous, bloody show, and am STILL pregnant. I so totally win.

On a more serious note, DH is starting to get worried because I haven't really slept in almost a week. I've gotten an hour or so at a time, but that's it. I'm trying to rest as much as possible, but it's hard with 4 other kids at home. I understand his concern. I gotta say I'm starting to get a bit concerned that if my body doesn't get rest it just won't jump start this labor!

Proved this theory wrong. My maternity shoot was yesterday & no baby yet.

Oh no! I'm so sorry and hope you feel better fast!

Sarah, would you be open to taking a sleeping pill? I am wondering if labor is being delayed because your body can't relax enough. I know melatonin and oxytocin work together, so maybe your body is trying to go into labor but can't?

Seriously, people. I was planning on giving birth on hands and knees-ish. I can't do that anymore! At least not unless I give birth in 2016. I'm really, really not happy. And I have contractions because I ticked off my uterus with that fall.

I bake bread, and my dominant hand has serious scraping on it because I was holding my key ring. This is really really really freaking obnoxious.

Think being this annoyed will put me into labor?

I'm open to it, yes. Is there one kind that's recommended or at least safe at the very end of pregnancy? I've not taken one in pregnancy before, so I don't know this stuff, and don't really feel like calling my father-in-law (a pharmacist) because it'll be half an hour of conversation that I am just not up for.

I've been wondering for the last week-ish if being REALLY relaxed/rested would help my body kick in.

Beer?
And I hope my body isn't waiting for really relaxed or rested, or I'm DEFINITELY taking the title!

I'm having a glass of wine now.

Unisom or Benadryl? One of those would be okay, right? I have to double check Kellymom.com.

Melatonin is fine. Valerian is fine in pregnancy (it's actually in the contraction easer formula my old midwife recommended.) Alcohol might be a good choice because it's also a muscle relaxant, so your uterus might knock it off long enough that you can sleep.

Benadryl is another option, and if you want to go the prescription route you can ask for a prescription of Ambien. Ambien is safe, but can cause hallucination like brain messing with. I had it one pregnancy, and wouldn't use it again.

My preference would be the Valerian.
I think I'd avoid Ambien, only because the several family members of mine who've tried it have had hallucinations, sleep walking, and unexplained blackouts. Not my idea of a good time!

I'll get some valerian root tomorrow.

I'm still here. 40+3 and counting. Doesn't look like I'm going anywhere either! Had some contractions yesterday evening...they even got to about 7-10 min apart, but they were less than 30 seconds each.
My mom has been here 10 days now and while I love her dearly and miss her so much, I'm needing a little space! I think I wouldn't mind that baby hasn't come, if my mom wasn't here waiting...but I didn't know when to have her come so she could take care of ds...
My hubby did clean the bathroom and the fridge tonight, so thats nice! Maybe he's starting to nest?!?!

Um, my DD is nesting.

Carita- I might see about getting maternity pictures this week. My cervix can take it.
I don't really have spare money to spend on pictures of myself.. I feel like such a bum when I do this, but I'm going to go to Picture People and just get the one free sheet they e-mailed me the coupon for, and nothing else.
I'll be spending enough on pictures after the baby gets here, though. Oof.
