Beco- a little dissappointed

I have been using a Babyhawk which I love. DH prefers the Ergo carrying our 18 month old. I find the Ergo to bulky especially in front carry to ge any house work done with my 3 month old. We hike a lot and I thought a Beco would be good for that.
So I got my hands on a barely used Beco. It's just not as comfy as the Ergo or MT. The straps are digging in under my arms, in back carry it's digging into my belly. I tried it higher, it's bugging my ribs. I adjusted the straps in all directions as well, no results. I wear a size 6 so I thought it would be a better fit than the Ergo.
Similar experiences or anything I can do?

I have a Beco that I don't love either, I've just never been able to get it comfortable (and DH loathes it!). I love my mei tai, so I'm just sticking with what I know works. I haven't sold the Beco yet just because I paid so much for it, I wish it would work.

Another one who's not happy with the Beco. I much prefer my Ergo or my wrap.
No matter how I adjust the straps the Beco slips on the shoulder and is not that comfortable. I also don't find it as easy to use as my other carriers.

I love my Beco!! But I'm a size 2 so the Ergo (which I loved until I lost all the baby weight!) just doesn't fit at all anymore.

I liked it okay, but it wasn't near as comfy as my ergo - especially as DS got bigger. I figured the extra bulk of the ergo was worth it to be comfortable and not hurt my back/neck/shoulders.

Butterfly? I didn't like the butterfly but LOVE my Beco 2nd generation. Huge difference, IMO.

It's not the butterfly, it doesn't have the infant insert inside which I didn't like. It's a older version I think, although looks new.

I am glad to know I'm not the only one. Thanks Mamas.
Maybe there is nothing wrong with me after all...

There is no one perfect carrier. Everyone has a different body, different baby/child, and different needs. Carriers I've loved have not worked for my friends and vice versa. So yeah, there's definitely nothing wrong with you (or the Beco!), it just doesn't sound like a good fit for you.

ETA my favourite SSC to date is the toddler patapum. I'm a size 6 too, but very tall and it works very well for me (though might not tighten enough to get comfy on a shorter size 6 person).

ETA again - you might want to hold onto it until your dc is bigger. Different carriers fit me differently as ds grew bigger himself.

I didn't really like my Beco at first either (I have an older one too--no infant insert; I think it's 2nd Gen?) but now that I have gotten used to it I love it. You do have to learn how to adjust it though--the waist strap goes right at the hip, and you can adjust the shoulder straps so that it doesn't dig. I adjust mine constantly because DH uses it for a back carry (as do I when we are hiking) but I use it for a front carry around the house, and you have to adjust back and forth between the two. I seriously love it now.
