Curves?

Has anyone used Curves? I got weighed this week and I am NOT happy! I weigh now what I did at 9 months pregnant! I need/want to lose at least 25lbs, preferably 30. I just can not find the motivation and the weight just keeps coming on. I've gained 25+lbs this year! Nothing wrong with me, just lazy and to much junk food lately imo.

I don't even think my town has a regular gym to join but I do know there's a Curves within walking distance right down the street and I can pull off 30 minutes 2-3 times a week now so I think it might be a good option.

Anyone had any experience with them? Can you really lose weight using there program?

I don't know much about curves sorry..but my aunt loves it!!! Not sure if she still goes, I know she does alot more walking now though.

I would think anything that gets you up and moving is a step. I also would say that taking off the wait wouldn't be just about going to curves but your diet would have to change or you might just be burning the extra calories you ate that day so you don't gain anymore!!!

So I would say go ahead and do it!!! and just because you join a club does't mean that all your excerise have to be there. Go for walks or do a jogging walking thing..and watch the types of food you consume.

I did curves for about a year and then got bored with going around in circles. It was good for a start. After that I started walking 4 miles a day with lots of uphills and I still do that along with some weight lifting.

About 7 years ago or so I did Curves as part of a major weight loss kick off. I had been diagnosed with PCOS, started metformin & had 80lbs or so to lose. My Curves was about a mile from my apt at the time so I would get home from work, change, walk there, do the workout & walk back.

My lifestyle had been very sedentary at that point. The walking, curves & the metformin for the PCOS along with a very low carb diet was a killer combo & I dropped the weight & was getting toned for the 1st time in 10 years.

But my body kind of hit a wall with Curves & it just wasn't enough to get to the next level. I never managed to tone my upper arms the way I wanted to with their workout. I do think it is a GREAT place to be-very low key, all gals, no judgement, no fancy workout clothes etc. I was on the younger side at the time & found it to be a very kind & nurturing atmosphere.

I think you should do it. If you could walk there, that would really make a difference too. And of course, you will have to watch the junk food & portions to see results. That's been hard for me lately but I'm working on it...as always!
