We are reorganizing our laundry room to fit a deep freezer and dry goods storage. This means my sewing stuff is being kicked out to the family room. I need storage/organization/work space ideas.

Mine is crammed in out little laundry room right now along with a deep freeze lol. I have a 3 drawer plastic thing that I don't care for but I already had it and I have things organized in the drawers.
I have a book shelf that I have fabric folded on and a basket of patterns on the floor next to my sewing desk because there is no other place to put it.
If I could have whatever I wanted I would have a nice china hutch type thing that I could really organize everything in. A dresser may also work well and keep sewing stuff out of direct eye sight (which is a eye sore IMO unless done just right which I can't do lol)
What do you have to work with budget and space wise?

Right now I am sewing on the drop leaf of my dining room table. What a pain it is. The thing bounces up and down and the machine doesn't stay put so as I sew I have to "chase" it around the table
We are turning the girls toy room into the school/arts and crafts room. There is going to be a space dedicated to sewing for me
I haven't totally decided what I want so I will be watching this thread. Right now I am thinking a small table for my sewing machine (I am hoping that a friend's son can take a leaf from an old formica table and make it into my sewing table) and some storage for my patterns and fabric. There will be a table in that room for school and the kids arts and crafts and that will be my cutting table as well. I don't want anything fancy, just something that will make it that if I have 10 free minutes I can sit down and make some progress on a project. As it is now my space is so cramped that I often need to move things to get to my machine, the kitchen table is never available for cutting, and to plug in my machine I have to stretch the cord across a high traffic area. Definitely not ideal especially when dh is not home.

Here's a pic from last summer of my sewing 'room'. I have a little corner in our basement living room between the french doors and the wall.
The desk drawers and the shelf hold most of my supplies, though my fabric stash is in a plastic tub in the storage room not far away. There's a black folding table (by the wall) that comes out if I need more table space.
It is not perfect, and could be much better with a little more effort, but it's not high on my priority list right now. It definitely gets the job done!

Here's mine. I mixed the paint myself out of leftovers I had laying around. I've done it before with great results but really messed up this time! I wanted a soft lilac but it turned out sort of intense.
I set it up last Feb and have hardly used it. It's hard to spent time up there during the day because it's right beside our bedroom and DH works evenings so sleeps in. Then in the evening, I find it sort of creepy up there. I guess it would be better if I had a window...
Anyways, I've discovered that while it *is* a nice space, it's not really being used as much as I imagined. When we start our reno work upstairs this summer, it will be changed into a large walk in closet. I think I'll leave a table in one corner for sewing but most of the stuff will be downsized and rehomed to the the buffet in the dining room. I much prefer working downstairs with all the sunlight streaming in.

Hopefully this works, This is my sewing nook, it is a little area in my laundry room. The book shelf is pretty unorganized right now, but it holds fabric, and other sewing needs. I have the 3 drawer thing for more stuff and a tackle box for little things. I have the TV tray (wood) that I use as extra work space and I have a old Mary Kay makeup tote for my threads. I'm def. outgrowing my space lol.
