Can single cycles have low progesterone?

I'm having a weird cycle... I ovulated at day 17-18, rather than 14-15, and then it was a slow-rise thermal shift, where normally it's a pretty big jump. Then my luteal phase is normally 14-15 days long, but yesterday at 9-10dpo I started spotting. I'm still spotting today, and I don't normally spot much - maybe for 6-8 hours before flow starts. I'd love to think it's implantation spotting, but it seems like more than the articles describe, not just one little smear... My temperature was still up at normal post-ovulatory levels this morning, though.

Anyway, anyone know if you can for whatever reason just have one bad cycle in terms of hormones/low progesterone levels?

do you have a link to your chart to see if I can decipher whats going on?

I don't. To describe it - this cycle I had clear fertile quality fluid build-up through day 17 - I assumed I was a day or two late just b/c I'd had a bad/cold flu the first 2 weeks of the cycle. On day 18 I jumped from the 97.5 range to the 97.9 range, and my fluid also dried up. I had 3 dpo in that range, where my normal post-O temps are 98.1-98.4. I missed a temp, and on dpo 5 I jumped to 98.4 and stopped temping. Yesterday was 10dpo, and I started spotting. I temped this morning - 98.3 - but the spotting seems to be getting heavier, more red than pink. I'm 97% certain it's AF. My normal luteal phase is 14 days, and I rarely spot.

maybe given the flu/cold, it is hard to get an accurate coverline and maybe you O'd a couple days sooner than you think? (doesn't explain the fertile CM ofter O though...) Or maybe the cold just threw the whole cycle outta whack? I guess only time will tell. Hopefully it is is pg breakthrough bleeding/spotting or if not, then you go back to a regular cycle for your next one?
Good luck

Hmm, I hadn't thought about breakthrough bleeding. My temp is still up this morning (12dpo), 98.4, and the bleeding is still at the same level - not heavy enough to require a tampon or anything, but definitely noticeable with wiping... So am I not "out" for this cycle until my temp drops? I'm trying not to test too early... This is my 7th cycle trying, and I've had plenty of negative tests already If my temp is still up tomorrow and my flow still isn't heavy, I may cave though.

13dpo, 98.2, so temp still way above my coverline. I almost took a test this morning, but the spotting seemed heavier, so I didn't. 2 hours later, still no flow, no need for a pad or anything, and I'm sort of wishing I'd tested. Tomorrow will be 14dpo, I'd usually see a temperature drop by then... If I'm not pregnant (or if I am!) what a weird cycle.

This is like my own little mini-freak-out journal So I thought it was turning into true flow this morning, after all this time... Put in a tampon (sorry if tmi), made brownies, thought about enjoying a small glass of wine with lunch while DD napped... But realized I still didn't feel convinced, really didn't want the wine, barely wanted the brownie (crazy, I know).

5 hours later, it's not looking like flow anymore. And I'm just starting to have this wow, I might be pregnant feeling. I think my boobs might be a little bigger, and it just occurred to me to look up the weird, intense night sweat I had that woke me up at 1a last night. Yes, indeed, night sweat - early pregnancy symptom for some women. A few days ago - the nap that I just had to take midday, or fall over on the floor...

Please, please, let me not be making all of this up.

for you!

Everything sounds very promising!

At 13dpo, if you're pregnant, it's likely you'd get a + test at any time of day. Might not be as dark as FMU, but with all your symptoms I'd have a hard time restraining myself! POAS!

Thanks for the

I would test, but (1) I hate, hate, HATE, the feeling of a negative test, so the longer I can convince myself to wait the better, for me and (2) if I test in the afternoon and get a negative, I'm not going to feel 100% confident it's right, I'll still feel in limbo. If I get a negative tomorrow with FMU, it'll feel more real. I'd really just like to KNOW, one way or the other.

I'll definitely update tomorrow after testing, one way or the other.

BFN I think I believe it. Temp is still above coverline, but the trend does seem be going slowly downward now - 98.4, 98.2, 98.2, today 98.0. Still barely need a pad, which is so weird, but now there is quite a bit of dark blood when I go to the bathroom.

This cycle is so different, I'm choosing to hope that maybe my body was trying to get pregnant, and just didn't make it? In a weird way, that would be encouraging - it would be something. I think I'll keep taking Robitussin this next cycle during my fertile period - maybe it helped.

I just hope the bleeding finishes up soon.
