Favorite outside toys?

What are your children's favorite outside toys?

We have gardening tools for the kids so they can dig and such. Dd has a scooter and ds has a little tricycle thing, we have balls and jumpropes. But it seems like we could use other things. We are considering building a sandbox.

What are your children's favorite outside toys?

We have a sand/water table that DD loves

Other than that..not much? We have a tricycle but she hasn't really gotten the hang of it yet, and in our actual yard we just have some garden tools she plays with that are child sized and her magnifying glasses for bug hunts.

sidewalk chalk gets used a lot around here. We also have a little tikes slide for really young kids that gets used as a slide but mostly as a tipped over fort and climbing structure.

Scooter, balls, etc. too.

sand and water table
side walk chalk
bubbles

We have gotten other things here and there, but those are the big three she keeps coming back to and the things other kids want to play with.

We also have a kick croquet game that is a cool idea, but not very sturdy.

Pretty much whatever nature hands them. They have a sand pit, bicycles, dump trucks, tree/tire swing, and the woods where they have built their own fort. They spend A LOT of time outdoors, which really sucks for me in the rainy season because the mud just piles up by the front door...but at least they aren't inside glued to the TV or an X-box.

Our kids, 3 and 6, spend hours outside. They mostly play on the swingset and spend gobs of time on their bikes, scooters, trikes, etc. During the summer, though, the hose and all water play toys become favorites!

The 'flintstone' cars get a lot of use around here. You know, the ones they push with their feet? We have a long driveway and they spend hours on those things.

My littles love that too. The older ones love bikes and scooters. Dirt and shovels are always popular. Dump trucks to haul the dirt. The biggest thing is the trampoline. They all looooove that. Oh and who could forget the hose pipe...

Nothing spells fun for my son like the garden hose turned ON. He'll entertain himself for an hour or more just spraying things, making mud rivers, watering things...he loves it.

Aside from the hose we do well with gardening toys, a little push lawnmower, balls of all shapes and sizes, and I also encourage him to play with sticks and rocks and natural fort-building materials that mother nature provides for us.

Yep, water! DD loves to get the hose and fill up watering cans, buckets, etc. Then water the lawn, the garden, the slide, or whatever she can find. She also loves to dig in the dirt.

We got DD a kid's tent with a tube to crawl in. It's hard to pull her out of there.

Here too. My kids use ropes as pulleys, 'mountain' climbing aids, for towing things, booby traps....if they can think of it, they do it.

They also like the tree swings, trikes, ride ons, bikes and scooters, dirt, the stream (and a million little toys to float in it), the hose, the slides, the ziplines, and saws (for cutting up deadfall as firewood)

Stomp rockets, bubbles, shovels, rakes, sandbox, balls of all sorts, the watering can. I also put the easel and paints/chalk out on the deck for the summer.

Yep. Ds can play with rope for hours!

The balance bike gets the most use but on a warm day ds loves to play with a tote full of water. He gets naked and pours in all over himself and the garden as well as standing/ sitting in it. Bubbles and sidewalk chalk are good but require a lot of parent support. I have decided that I hate sand. It gets everywhere and gets mouldy and wet and gross unless you remember to cover it every time. If I had the space, I think I would get a pop up tent for outside and maybe a real paddle pool.
