can anyone recommend a clearly-written, recent study on the effects of tv on young children's attention span and behavior?
I am not so interested (at the moment, anyway) in the effects on kids in terms of violence or perception of the world as a scary place -- there do seem to be a lot of such studies available
more interested at the moment, in effects on learning:
MOSTLY, I am looking for something that makes a connection between TV (and computer/DS, etc) entertainment and a tendency to evaluate EVERYTHING in life on the criterion of how entertaining it is. I, personally, think this is caused by screen-based entertainment, at least with my 6yo DS
I want to read something and pass it to my DH, who REALLY needs to be convinced before its too late He is completely addicted, and has taught my son the addiction -- it is a very SORE subject in our house.
Thanks for any suggestions!
