. Sorry, but that's funny!

I recall putting DD's bouncy chair by the dishwasher years ago to keep her asleep.

Do you have an iPhone, iPod, or any smart phone? There are apps with various white noise sounds or tracks that can be downloaded to an MP3 player. I use the ocean and rain ones at night sometimes for our youngest.

we use a regular fan in our little girl's room. When she slept with us we had a fan in our room and when we transitioned her to her big girl room we put a fan identical to ours in her room.

Radio static...cranked WAY up.

And for some reason, my daughter is way into Yo La Tengo...which isn't exactly white noise, but is very drony.

We have this one, bought it in store at Target. I love it, use it every single day for K. We mainly just use the ocean waves sound, but there are others on there. It runs during his naps, and all night long ( or as long as he is in his crib).

LOL dustbuster

For Christmas the grandparents gave us a Little Einstein Lullaby soother
I never would have considered it I like it. The water sounds are very pleasant but not distracting. The night light fades on and off so that it doesn't wake baby. With the side carred crib I lost my bedside table and lamp so I needed a little light in that side of the room.

we use a cd player with a burned cd from purewhitenoise.com
It was about $8 to download and has paid for itself over and over and over

Both excellent suggestions! We have also used white noise tracks on an mp3 player.

We have this one and it is AWESOME http://www.amazon.com/Marpac-Lifesou...327613&sr=8-11 Made in the USA and I would buy it again and again. It rocks my LO's world

We use a clock-radio from Homedics that has a bunch of different soothing sounds - DD seems to like the rain one. I think I got it on Amazon.com for around $25. I like it because it has several uses, being a clock-radio and all

We use an el-cheapo box fan. We bought it on clearance for, like, $4 or something. It's so cheap that if you turn it on "high" it blows itself over. But it runs and it makes noise and DS sleeps and we're all good!

We have this one and I LOVE IT!!! It has helped our DS sleep so much more soundly. We have a super small house and it blocks out even the obnoxious slamming of my front door that my DH needed to fix 2 years ago and the door is right next to our bedroom. Got it on clearance for 15 dollars.. would pay much more than that though now.

We have this one. We've used it in our room since ds1 was a baby. We still use it now for ds2 (and us ) Love it!
We have a fan in the other bedroom for Ds1 when he sleeps in there.

we have the one from Brookstone and it's awesome.

We have the sleep sheep from cloub b. http://www.cloudb.com/ssandf/sheep.html

Not exactly white noise, but same idea. I like that you can choose to have it go off after 23 or 46 minutes. DH jokingly put it on the whale song the first night we brought DD home, and now none of us can sleep without the whale songs on!
