No longer EBF

Hello Mamas:
I'm new to this forum. My LO (9mos) and I just moved away from EBF; so our routine (and maybe system) needs to change to include removing solid and "unformed" matter from the diapers. I don't really want to use liners in the diapers, and a "poop spatula" seems gross, as does a sprayer. That being said, please share some of your changing routines & I will remain open-minded. This is a hurdle I'm ready to jump, just like cloth diapering with caregivers and traveling; I just need your help

Thanks!

We are in sort of an in between stage ourselves, not quite solid, not ebf. I use liners when I think of it, but that's not always. It's not always ploppable. If it's a little I'll swish it and dump it in the pail I keep by the toilet (that's conveniently in the laundry room). If I can't swish it off, I just wash it as is. He doesn't eat a lot of solids, so it's small quanitites of poo at this point.

I am a huge fan of keeping it simple...if it doesn't knock off into the toilet with a gentle nudge, it comes out in the wash. I'm also not a fan of swishing it around in the toilet or using a sprayer, either, because I found that wet diapers sitting in a pail stink much more than a little soiling in a dry pail...not to mention I don't particularly care for dripping diapers going from toilet to pail.

I just shake the pooy diaper over the toilet until the formed chunck falls off then the diaper and the rest of the poo goes in the pail.

Been doing that for 3 yrs lol

So......

So we wrap up the ploppable-pooy diaper, set it aside. Then when our change is all done, we travel to the bathroom, open up the diaper, and knock the chunks into the toilet. We then travel back to the changing place to put the diaper in the pail. This is too many steps for me.... and too much traveling across the house with a wad of poo. I need to streamline this or I will end up with poo on 1)the LO's feet, 2) the floor, 3) my hands 4) the toilet. I'm thinking I should maybe set up a changing pad and pail in the bathroom, and just change him right there on the floor. Any alternatives or little tricks that people have up their sleeves?
