Withdrawal/Pull Out Method

Just wondering if anyone has actually done it "right" and still had it fail on them? We've been using it for many years now during peak fertile times and no oops yet. I hope for one every month. My DH is very good with timing, etc and never slips up. Anyone else out there that has a DH with good control and still had a oops over time?

FWIW, when I do get pg[no trying, but a non pull out time..mis calculated ovulation] I get pg very easy on the first one time shot.

Thanks

This method has been very effective for us.

Nope. My dh is perfect with timing too. We've been using it 7 years, except when TTC, and never had an oops.

we've been doing this for only 6 months only during peak fertile times def. not pregnant. I did get pregnant on other contraceptives.

WoW! So far no one has posted that has had it fail. I was afraid that I would get more positive replies than not. I was hoping to hear that it failed for some with perfect use, but I see thats few and far between.

Im in the same situation. Hasnt failed yet and I hope every month for it to fail.

Keep the responses coming ladies!

we had 0 pregnancies for 3+ years until we kind of purposefully slipped up. I was also taking wild carrot though so that might have helped.

We've been together for 6 years, married for 3, withdrawal is all we have ever used and there are no babies in our house. We didn't always use it (if one of us was afraid it was O time, then we did) and one miscalculation last summer led to a pregnancy (mc 5wks) but now that there's charting AND withdrawal, no problems whatsoever.

I wish it would fail, too. My chart last month looks like I should be PG right now, but all of the BD during fertile time was withdrawal, so here I sit on CD4.

We've successfully used the withdrawal method for 8 years. The only times we got pregnant was when we were trying for it.

Me and my hubby has been using this method too for 2 years now and it's been very effective for us. As we are not yet ready for a baby, we're planning to have one though probably sometime next year...

well, we did have an oops with this method. I'm not sure if that's a positive or not since you're not both on the same page. We used it successfully for years before the slip up and we have NO idea how it happened (well we DO..heh..but you know what I mean).

effective in conjunction with charting.

We were charting and using withdrawal on fertile days, and DP has excellent control so we never had a slip-up in that regard. It worked fine for several months, but we are currently expecting our "oops" baby right now We didn't do anything differently that month than we did any other month, so we really don't know how this happened...but we're perfectly ok with it

I used charting in previous LTRs with complete avoidance of intercourse on fertile days and had one child intentionally, but never an "oops" pregnancy.

i thought we were pretty good at this, DH has very good control and definably got out of there within plenty of time and.. i am 24 weeks pregnant :P

there are 2 ways this could have happened .. well 3 i guess - failed withdrawl, super sperm that lived 7-9+ days, or a clean up error .. my bet is on the clean up error ..
