Toddler poop question

Totally gross, sorry....

Why does his poop smell like mothballs???? Seriously, it smells like an old man's attic. I know smell, etc. have to do with diet, but he's not eating anything out of the ordinary lately. Does it signify a problem?

No clue if he is right, but my husband says it means the child is dehydrated. He looked it up online when our daughter's poop smelled like ammonia (to him, I didn't really notice).

Yikes! That could very well be, since I wasn't giving him as much water as he's used to while we were out due to PLing. I'll up the water intake (and potty breaks!) and see if things get back to normal. Thanks!

Anyone else have ideas, or experience this?
