MN Zoo Breastfeeding area in the RESTROOM?? WHAT?!!!! - Page 2

So, how far from that stalls does the nursing area need to be for it to be acceptable?

Most of the ones I know are in their own little room just inside the restroom. No funky smells there.

I don't see the issue.

If you don't want to use this place, then don't. Some of us (like me) like having a private place when we need some space to get a good latch.

Oh, I'm sorry if it seemed like I don't think we should have a private place available to nurse! I totally think it's great! I have used some private, nursing mama's rooms. And I have also nursed in public. I'm just saying I would never go into the restroom to nurse. I think it's gross. I know it sometimes stinks in there. I know there are nasty germs floating around in there. And I don't like the idea of my toddler walking around touching the walls, stumbling on the floor onto all fours, etc., then coming over to me and touching my boobies to nurse... (or in a few months, when I'll be trying to nurse the baby).

I think it's very nice and considerate when stores, malls, zoos, etc., create a mom-friendly environment for private nursing. I can understand and appreciate that many moms WANT a private place to nurse. I just don't think the restroom should be that place. I really think that a special place can be designated for that purpose, and that place doesn't need to be the restroom.

If you feel comfortable sitting in a stall or in the restroom somewhere and eating your food... go ahead. If I walk by I won't say anything to you about it (I'm too polite). But I'll still think it's gross.

It sounds like you haven't seen the kind of rooms we have here.

It's not like you're sitting right next to stalls. Normally, you walk into the first door of the large restroom and off to one side is a separate room with comfy chairs and stuff for nursing women. Then, if you continue into the restroom you'll find the other things.

Is it possible to get some clarification on what the layout of the restroom in question is?

The ones I've seen are actually kind of nice. Well, they are as nice as a room in a public place can be...
