IUI went fine this morning. We had 6 million swimmers which is a little low, but okay especially with 4 follies in there that are in the running. Both DH and i are a little freaked out about 4, but hopeful that we will catch one!!! I always feel like I got hit by a truck after each of my IUI's. Just been laying low today and also feeling a little nauseous too, who knows what that is, must be hormonal. We will see. They said to test in 17 days. DH's B-day is on the 28th so i'd love to surprise him with a pos. test for his b-day, but we will see. Fingers crossed!!!!

17 days! Don't they know that any self respecting IF patient will be testing at oh about 8 dpo! How big does a follie need to be to release an egg? I had two this month but one was a bit smaller - can't remember what size. The IUI's I did three years ago didn't make me feel crappy, but they do now. I usually feel crampy and tired afterwards. Could be the drugs I guess.

Leslie, I was told that 16mm is considered mature, but at other times I've heard 17, and I read somewhere that it's possible for a 14 to release a viable egg.

blueyezz: I'm glad your IUI went smoothly. I expect to feel pretty yucky afterwards too, since the day after my last IUI I felt really blahhhh and I was only ovulating from one mature follicle. Take it easy! I'm glad we're cycling together.

Here are my numbers: 19.78, 16.6, 13.56, 18.82, 15.72, 20.77 and I picked up two others that are about 10 and 8. At my appointment, she said that I had five good, mature follicles. It seems possible that that 13.56 could get there by the time I ovulate. WOW!!! I trigger tonight at 9, but I think I might do it earlier. IUI is at 11 tomorrow. Think baby thoughts for us!!!

Tear78 - Yeah, I'm so glad to have you as my cycle buddy!!! Wow, you really do have a lot!! I thought ours was a lot and afterwards DH and I were a little scared, but you only live once right!!!! Hoping for a sticky one for both of us!!!! That is weird that you trigger tonight and IUI tomorrow?? This practice I'm in and my other old practice has you wait like 36hrs, I think it is. So I triggered on Friday night (10pm) and then IUI on Sunday at around 10 am. Kinda weird don't you think? Are you using ovidrel?? Wonder if it is b/c you have so many they are having you go early? Hmm... now i'm wondering???

lesliesara63 - I think it kinda depends on the practice and also which drug you are using. When we got prego with our twins last yr i think i had 3 main follies that were 17, 15, 13 and we triggered when we thought it would release only one egg and we ended up getting 2. This time when we triggered we had a 15.5, 2 @ 14 and one at 13, so you never know. I think they can keep growing even while you are waiting for the IUI to happen. I think you would have to ask your drs office to be sure.

The nurse practitioner said that b/c the catheter gets jammed (nicely) into your uterus, which is an area that is not used to any foreign objects in there, it will cause cramping and some discomfort. I always say that i feel like i've been hit by a truck (not really, but sore) after my IUI's. I always feel better the next day and they say you can take Tylenol, but not Ibuprofen if you need to. In some ways i'm always glad i feel that way b/c then i know for sure that the nurse got the swimmers in the right place. Right when she injects them you will get some cramping feelings as well. Good luck to you!! Don't be scared by it, it's kinda like menstrual cramps, but you just feel more sore to move like standing up or sitting down is more tender. This is how I feel and everyone is different. I'll be interested in seeing how others feel after their IUI's.

I'm still not sure what's up with my numbers... I'm still sick (or maybe again? my throat feels better, but now it's a head cold? And I can't tell if I'm slightly feverish or if it's just kinda hot and humid?), so I haven't a clue what's up with my temps. If I did O (on CD 14 again!!!), I really should be starting the progesterone now...

I saw my ob/gyn today. His suggested next step was IUI with clomid, just using OPKs to know when to do the IUI. Well, after doing the CD3 tests again (mine are 2 years old, and weren't done on CD3 then... also, my cycles have changed pretty significantly since then).

I feel like our primary problem is timing. And maybe egg quality... but really, timing is #1. But OPKs don't seem to work well for me - I see positives + then I don't ovulate or I never see them + and I do ovulate. The estrogen microscope might be accurate, but I don't have enough data... and I get "partial ferning" all the time. I was looking into the monitors, but they're so expensive + seem to rely on the same mechanisms. I seem to keep ovulating on Thursdays, which is bad when we're only in the same place on the weekend!

It seems so simple... but timing is really challenging!! I think I just need to go all boot camp on it next month, and tell him he's got dates Wednesday nights from CD 10 to ovulation...

Tear and Blueyezz: I've got my fingers crossed for you ladies!!! When i concieved we had 3 or 4 mature follicles and only one took so i wouldn't worry too bad

Blueyezz: i'm doing good so far...other that the fact that i'm 14 weeks and i'm still staying sick all of the time. I got put in the hospital a week ago this past sunday due to dehydration from being sick. I'm just ready for december to get here...

I'm soooooo excited for everyone here though...i know that everyone will graduate soon enough....i know it's been a long wait..and i know my 30 months of ttc is nothing compared to most of you...but i know how hard it is to keep trying and keep trying and AF showing up the next month (and a lot of times she would be late for me and make me really think that it was our month...just for another 2 weeks to go by and her to show her nasty little face) I'll be reading more to see how things are going with you ladies...and i'm really praying for more BFP's from here....

AFM - AF arrived this morning. I go tot he RE on Fri am for b/w and a uterine sounding, if the b/w looks good I start injections that night. (We are doing an injectible/IUI cycle this time) DH is working late that night so he will not be around to do the injections, which is wigging me out since I can't even hold the needle without shaking.

For some people, it's tricky to get through the cervix, and that can cause some cramping. I just feel tired afterwards, probably from all the excitement and anticipation. It's the next day for me, when I ovulate, that I feel it. I'm having major ovarian intensity right now. But I love every second of it, because it feels like such a good ovulation.

stretch, The injections really stink at first, and it's mostly the psyching out of sticking yourself, but you get used to it. After a while, it starts to feel like a little science experiment. It really doesn't hurt that bad. You can do it!

Yes, our IUI was on Tuesday, and it was so great! We had 83% motility and I guess it's all the leafy greens we've been eating from our garden. I had minor ovary action Tuesday night and super ovary action on Wednesday. Now I've started progesterone and I'm all woozy. I'm just trying to visualize all my little ones floating down to my uterus and developing perfectly, and I'm trying to stay relaxed and send all of them my love. I am going in for acupuncture on Tuesday, to help with implantation. Test date on June 29th. How are you doing, a week out?

Good to hear all went well!! You said 83% motility, but how many swimmers did you have? 83% that is great!! Our place doesn't tell us anything but the total number and that is it. Kinda weird, i think! The other place we were going to told us everything. I'm doing pretty good. Had some cramping yesterday and kinda feel a little nauseous today, who knows, that could be the progesterone. I also think that the progesterone make me more hungry too!! Do you find that?? Are you on suppositories or what do they have you using? How often do you take them? Glad to hear you are doing acupuncture. I actually went in for some for another reason and he put a few in to promote implantation too. Good luck to you!! I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for all of us this month!!!

Cramping and nausea at around 7dpo are GOOD signs! I hear you, though, it's hard to believe anything with the progesterone. I'm taking Crinone suppositories, one every morning, and I feel SOOOOOOOOO sleepy, and dizzy. I fell asleep at around 8:30 last night and didn't get up until 8:15 this morning. Then I took a nap in the afternoon. I think it's so strong because all those follicles are now putting out progesterone, too. Our original sperm count was around 115 million, and after the wash I think we had 40-50 million with 80% motility. DH said I could share that cause it was so good. We're very thankful. That stinks that they didn't give you more information. Last time, we asked if we could look at them under the microscope before the insemination: it was so COOL! I hope the acupuncture does the trick for both of us! Keep thinking baby development thoughts!

AFM - you ladies were right the injections are not that bad. I had an US this morning I have 4 follicles between 12.5 and 16 and a couple other smaller ones. (this is making DH very nervous) We will probably be doing the IUI on Fri or Sat.

Hi all. Just checking in - nothing new to report. I was suppose to send in the paperwork for the possibly free/reduced med program - but my mind refuses to work this week. Actually I should ahve done it last week. Anyway, life is boring. My mil is a freaking crazy person. That.is.all.
