What happens when I stop pumping? - Help!

DS just turned 2. I WOHFT and he goes to daycare. I currently pump 2X a day and nurse in the afternoons/evenings/weekends and we co-sleep. What happens to my supply if I decide to stop pumping during the day? In the toddler room at daycare they only give 1 bottle of milk with lunch and either juice (would be water for us) the rest of the day. I get about 3 oz total/day pumping. Would I dry up or have a supply drop? I am so nervous to stop pumping. DS really won't take any other milk. Almond milk - no. Hemp milk - no. Mix of coconut milk and coconut kefir - sometimes he will take.

He has a couple of times recently refused to take breastmilk at daycare. Let me tell you, pumping is not the highlight of my day - so if he isn't taking it and my supply won't drop I will retire the pump. And how do I know if my supply drops if I am not pumping???

That is a hard question to answer as everyone is different. In theory your supply will drop during the day but remain the same for the feeding he will continue to take. Also you will just have to watch him/his reaction for signs that your supply has dropped.

Wish I could give you a definite, but it is supply and demand so you should be fine.

IME, as long as you keep nursing when you're together, your supply should be fine. I retired the pump at 14-15 months, and DD is still nursing strong at 19 mo. She gets an alternate milk for her 1 bottle during the day when I work.
That said, I only worked 3 days a week at the time, so my experience is only with that type of schedule.
I only noticed that I had much more milk in the evenings for awhile (obviously) b/c I wasn't pumping anymore. It leveled out after a few weeks. For me, I stopped leaking and stopped feeling so engorged, but still had plenty of milk for my DD.
