Our Silk Almind Milk froze....keep or toss?

My darned uneven fridge! We were out of town so it got colder than normal in the back (no kiddos opening and closing) and three of my five stashed half gallons of almond milk froze. This happened a couple months ago with another brand and after I defrosted it, it was all separated and gross so I tossed it for fear it might be bad....hoping maybe this brand (which seems to have a smoother texture) might have a different fate.

I'm planning on defrosting one of these and seeing if it's okay...is there anything that possibly could be unhealthy since it froze? It's for my dd who has Crohn's so I don't want to take any chances that might give her the runs but it's really hard to find near home (commonly out of stock) so we'll be in a pickle if I have to toss them before I can buy more!

Thanks!

I'd just shake it extra well and use it. If it has separated and shaking won't get it back together, I'd just whir it in the blender until it's smooth. I can't imagine that it would be bad health-wise, and it would be a shame to throw all that out!

No - freezing it won't harm it in any way. It might make the texture weird like you experienced before, but pathogen wise it's fine.

Thanks mamas! The blender idea is a great one! I'd hate to waste all this....they were $3 each (on sale at least).
