HypnoBabies VBAC track?

If you used hypnobabies/hypnobirthing or are using it, did you get the VBAC tracks? If so, do you like them or not? Did you find them helpful in delivering or in preparing for a more relaxed labor? I am not buying the whole hypnobabies course, but am thinking of getting the VBAC tracks to prepare. Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.

Oh, and I am attempting a VBA2C in a hospital. The hospital is pretty VBAC friendly (was hoping for one last time and I was encouraged by my OB and everyone I met there, but had a PPROM at 32 weeks with a transverse baby who turned breech at delivery) but they are a bit more anxious about it being a VBA2C. I plan to labor for a while at home. My OB wants me to come in when my water breaks (as it has with both my previous pregnancies before labor) or when I have contractions 10 mins apart (which I have never had, with #1 they went from nothing to 3 mins apart and with #2 they started 4 days after my water broke and were 4-5 mins apart).

Anyways, I am hoping for a natural delivery if possible, so any thoughts on the VBAC tracks would be wonderful.

I used the Hypnobabies Home Study Kit for my VBAC and it was awesome. I did get the VBAC track, but I didn't use it all that much. My c-section was scheduled for breech. I never had labor and my c-section went well so for me, I think just the regular program was fine. The practice schedule is intensive. You need to listen to two tracks a day so if you add in another, it is hard to find the time.

I do think the tracks would be good for someone who had traumatic experiences or needs extra confidence, but the regular program helps a lot.

Why aren't you getting the full program? It really is worth it. It is great mental preparation and helped tremedously during the birth to stay, calm, focused and I felt mostly discomfort and very little pain.

Thanks for the response. In all honesty, I just don't have the time to do it. This is my thrid child and the other two are running me ragged. I have a 5 and 2 year old and have barely had time to sit down and read through my Ina May book, and that is usually while they are both playing in their rooms, very very loudly. I am due in about 7 weeks, but have never made it past 37.5 weeks, so time is running short. I do have the hypnobirthing book that I have been trying to read here in there. I am so freakin exhausted by the time I get my oldest in bed that I usually fall asleep on the couch 30 mins into any reading. I hate to spend the money then not use it.

If you don;t have time to do the Hypnobabies program, then I would probably concentrate on the Hypnobirthing book. Though Hypnobirthing book is designed to be used in conjunction with a class, you can still benefit.

For the Hypnobirthing book, practice the breathing technique (starting page 123) daily if you can. First thing in the morning and right before bed are two good times of the day to do this. If your kids nap, then try to do it then as well.

Do the Rainbow relaxation daily if you can. Do it as much as possible.

The techniques are described page 123-158.

Page 35-79 focuses on fear and how it impacts labor and how to release it. This is the other most important section of the book I think.

I know it is hard to squeeze in practicing, but the more you can practice the better you will be able to call upon the skills in labor.

wills mom- I also had an early leak in my water at 38 weeks but labor didn't really follow, so my midwife suggested from week 36-38 take daily, double the recommended daily dose of Vit C, Vit E , and zinc. If you had your waters break earlier than that in the past maybe you would want to do it from week 34-36. Vit E is not good to take for an extended time in pregnancy that is why it is a 2 week schedule to strengthen the sac.
