Pea freezing ?

I have extra peas that I am harvesting now and would like to freeze some. I know that I can blanch and then freeze them, but I am wondering if I can just take them out of the pods and put them in an airtight container in the freezer without doing anything else to them? This would not be for long time storage...my family EATS alot...just until we run out of fresh ones to eat up!

The blanching is to stop the veggie's enzymes from doing their thing (aka ripening, over-ripening, decomposition), albeit at a slower rate in the freezer. But hey, worth a shot if they'll only be in there for a few weeks or so.

I've had no problems freezing without blanching.
