Neither of my 2 ds had allergies as babies. My oldest, 7yo, has pollen/mold/dust allergies and gets allergy shots (for 2 yrs now). He just got diagnosed with wheat and shrimp allergies. The wheat was exasperating his eczema, but nothing major. Haven't tried shrimp since the test (in Feb).
Anyway, I have a soon-to-be 6mo DD who is getting interested in solids. Should I avoid wheat just in case it bothers her or increases her odds of developing the allergy? If so how long to avoid it? Does it even matter since she is getting it in my milk anyway?
DS actually refused all solids until he was 13mo. He had a oral hypersensitivity, and we had to do a desensitizing "therapy" with him. I wondered if his body was somehow protecting him from allergies?
