What is the right to trial and appeal?

As part of filing for divorce (I am finally embracing it!) I need to answer a question on whether I am willing to give up my right to trial and appeal.

I will indeed have everything check by a lawyer when I finish and before I submit, but I wanted to know what that means...

Thank you!

When divorce proceedings are contested and agreements can not be made then they can end up going to trial. If you decide to waive your right to an appeal then you would have to settle for whatever the judge would decide.

Mine is uncontested, so I think I will be fine.

The only 'problem' I have is that because I make more than my stbx, he might claim child support on me...We talked and he said he wouldn't but with this guy I never know... that can be up to $358!!

be careful and see if you can go to a free legal clinic or women's center if there is one in your area.
