Birth Plans/Preferences: Homebirth with Hypnobabies

Anything else you'd like to share: I have been a birth and postpartum doula for 4.5 years and attended about 50 births. I am also a Hypnobabies instructor. I didn’t know we would have trouble conceiving when I started my career in the birth field so the last 4 years have been…interesting. It took us 5 IVF cycles to get pregnant. My mom was an avid Mothering reader so even though I am just now pg with my 1st, I’ve been on Mothering.com for years. But now, I’m no longer an honorary member…I can FINALLY, OFFICIALLY be here! Just hoping this baby sticks!

wow mommy! i think you may get the award for the longest time actively TTCing in this DDC! we were first going to try over 3 years go, but life and the army and the war kept getting in out way, we didn't even get a go at it till nearly year later and then it still took us 2.5 more years!

Yeah, we started TTC with my July cycle in 2006 (I ovulated around Aug 1st), so since it's the end of May, I am 2 months shy of 4 years TTC.

aprilmom - I don't know if I remember you from the infertility forums - maybe we weren't on there at the same time? But we tried for 4 years and I know how you feel about being in shock. We got our positive beta on Monday and I still can't believe it. I just assumed we'd keep trying IVF to be able to say we tried everything but after 4 failed cycles, I didn't think it would work on the 5th one.

Had and ultrasound this morning with my GYN. My due date isn't January 12th, it's January 2nd.

I had an ultrasound today. Lil bean is measuring right on with my EDD. The heart rate measured at 138. It feels more real now.
