Thanks, Leigh! Are you on any meds? I'm on Methyldopa, which is what I was on with my son. I actually did really well on it with him. My pressures were great until 36 weeks, and then nothing could keep them down!

Strangely/amazingly, my blood pressure is LOW on the Methyldopa right now.

Good luck to you!!

Am I on any meds? The short answer is "yes, I am." The long answer is "do you have a couple of hours to spare?"

But as far as medication for my blood pressure goes I'm currently on Procardia. I was taking Vasotec but it's classified category D for the 2nd and 3rd trimesters, so it's one of the few that we changed. I'm currently only taking one class D drug - Klonopin. It's a necessary evil for me, as I suffer from pretty severe anxiety (especially in large crowds - great when you live in New York, I know) and panic attacks raise my blood pressure through the roof.

It's good to hear that your BP is stable. Let's hope it stays that way!

Updated to here , welcome ladies, and wow we finally have a baby due on the 31st, the whole month is covered now!!!! Im sure we will still get lots more ladies, but that seems like a big milestone. (that and the DDC for Feb is open and filling fast!)

let me know any time there are changes or when you have links to ultrasound or when you see or hear a heart beat, i will be thrilled to add that info to your listing!
Oops! I forgot to post here that we did see the heartbeat when I had my ultrasound a few weeks ago.
Saw the baby's heartbeat today! They said I was measuring 6w3d (I am 6w4d) which puts the EDD at 1/29/11, which is my 35th birthday! I might take that one over the 28th (since it's a day later too - every little bit helps).

Just got my positive today...

EDD - Officially based on LMP January 5th, I am pretty sure I did not ovulate on d14 though and always have had long cycles and "late" babies, so I would not be surprised to find this one popping out in early February.

Your Name: Nickey
Age - 30
State or Country: Northern Colorado
How long it took to you to get your BFP: Got three negatives in the weeks between 3 and 6 weeks past lmp. Was expecting my period at about 8 weeks since that is how they were between the last two babies. 10 weeks tomorrow and no sign of it so I decided to run into the dollar store this morning while in town. Took it after lunch and got a BFP right away. ETA: This was my first cycle since last baby was born, she is 18mo.

What number child is this for you: 6th living
Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): Dh is Lloyd, 1 boy almost 10, 4 girls 8yo to 18mo. Lots of cats and a couple of salamanders.
Baby's Gender (hopes or guesses): Another girl according to the Chinese calender. Don't really believe in the prediction methods but it is fun to look at. I've been praying for a boy but we are cool either way.
Birth Plans/Preferences: Hoping for another home birth, maybe water birth.
Congratulations to Sarah and Jamie for seeing their babe's heartbeats and a great big welcome to Jenni, Raena, and Nickey!

Anything else you'd like to share:
I joined Mothering way back when, around the time I was pregnant w/my son.
It's been a very long time since Ive been a regular member here.
I am still hesitant about this pregnancy since it is so early, that whole jinx thing I guess.
Everyone knows except for Caden, I'm waiting a little bit longer to tell him he will be a big brother! I think he will do great, but Im still nervous, I was an only child and I dont want him to worry about his place in the family w/the new baby.

I am having killer morning sickness and I am SO tired of it. Sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I wasnt really expecting to be expecting but it's not a total shock either, was hoping to be married by the time a new baby was in the picture but it's alright, we are in a good place no matter what happens.

I feel like I have so much to learn and my life is rather different than when I was pregnant w/Caden.

Anyway Ill leave it at that. Thanks for being "here"!
Welcome, Amber and a great big congratulations to you, your fiancé, and Caden!

I'm so happy that you decided to join us here. We're a pretty chatty group - apparently not always the norm - so jumping right in should be pretty easy. Everyone here is great and I'm not just saying that. Some people can be a bit grating, even through the internet, but all the ladies here are really great.

I've got ultrasound pics - and video! http://www.flickr.com/photos/kythryn...7623963872101/
post #220 of 414
We saw the baby's heartbeat at our first OB appointment last friday. DH and DS were beside themselves with joy to see the baby moving and waving to them on the ultrasound.

Everything looks like it was going well. Today I had to go in and get 6(!) vials of blood taken for "routine testing". Hopefully that will be the last time for that.
