Hi! This is my first post. I tested yesterday at 11dpo and got a BFP. Conception date was saturday May 1st. I used FF chart and we BD once which was the night before before O date.

I'm hoping everything goes well. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

* Family: DH and a 26 month old DS, as well as two angels (miscarriage at 8 weeks and 'chemical' at 4.5 weeks)
* Baby's Gender: We have a boy, so a girl would be nice - but certainly not required I really just want a healthy child, of course.
* Birth Plans/Preferences: I would love a home birth with a midwife - as long as DH and a congenital uterine abnormality don't get in my way
* Anything else you'd like to share: I have been keeping quiet because I joined last months DDC and then had an early M/C We just started fertility screening this cycle, and surprise! This month my betas are doubling in less than 30 hours (!!!!) so I hope that is a good sign. Good luck to you all!

* EDD hm.... around january 19.

* TTC #2 for 2 years. i was losing hope!

* Family: Me, DH, DD. we are owned by a cat named Lily Potter.

* Baby's Gender - daddy wants a boy to carry on his uncommon name. mommy thinks that would be extremely cool too! of course i'd like another little girl too, cause let's face it i had a lot of fun with the cuteness of DD1. DD1 is from a previous relationship so she doesn't have his last name, a new baby girl would have his name but then there's the issue of maiden/married name. i know, it's a little odd. but that's ok we're talking about a 0.01% preference. it's mostly 50/50

* Birth Plans/Preferences: what i'd really like is a VBAC but i'll have to see. i've heard that they don't allow it in my small town, so i'll probably have a scheduled repeat C/S. i'm ok with that, rather than going to the big city. we'll see! i'm hoping that if we have a c/s, daddy will be there. he's squeamish about hospitals and would be happy to sit in the waiting room as if it was 1972. i'm hoping he'll come around! if not, i'm going to invite my mom, who was there for my first caesarean birth, and who is completely unphased by ANYTHING.

so we were TTCing for ages and i thought we weren't going to succeed.. i looked on the net for what to do if your partner has low sperm count (no, we weren't diagnosed, but i had a feeling that was the most likely issue) and planned the "trying" accordingly. lo and behold the first month of using Instead softcups and bding every other day, and BFP!

i bfed DD for 4 years. which was longer than i'd wanted to but it wasn't that big a priority to wean until then. i'm hoping to do the same again last time i had to use disposable diapers, this time i'm hoping to use cloth. i think MDC is going to be a priceless resource for us!

Still trying to wrap my head around this pregnancy, considering my divorce from DD's dad is not yet finalized (ugh). I'm in love with DP, though, and trying to just allow myself to be happy about this new LO rather than freak out about all of the additional complexities.

* How long it took to you to get your BFP: I still haven't figured out what BFP stands for, but from reading everyone's introductions at least I get what it means! And the answer is: This was a TOTAL surprise! In fact, I'm still not sure I believe it. We do natural family planning, and took what I thought was a very small risk... For some reason I was assuming we'd have trouble conceiving a second child--silly, since I was wrong about that assumption the first time too...

* Baby's Gender: I'm hoping in both directions at once. I feel like it's a girl, though.

* Anything else you'd like to share: Still having trouble believing this is true. We were thinking of trying to start another baby sometime between when DD was 3 and 4 or maybe 5. But I never thought I'd have a January baby, much less two kids 3 1/2 years apart. I'm really happy about it, though, and DH has taken this totally peacefully. We haven't really made it clear to DD yet (not sure we're ready to share with other people, which she would probably do), but she's been talking about a baby sister for months now, so I know she'll be excited! DD still nurses a couple of times most days (I don't think I'm producing anything anymore, though), so I'm curious to see how that will go.
